Overview Primary duty is to represent the Forest Service and provide information to visitors, helping people enjoy this unique area safely, responsibly, and in the time they have available. Visitor Center during the busy months can see 200 - 1,000 people per day. We want all demographics to be able to enjoy the area. Red Canyon Visitor Center is located off HWY 12 in the Powell District of the Dixie National Forest. Geologic recourses, cultural heritage, world-class recreation and scenery, natural; resources and watershed management are Dixie National Forest's interpretive focus areas.

Responsibilities Coordinator will help out with seasonal volunteers and more. Will run the information desk, with additional tasks of restocking, cleaning, tidying, etc. Working the front desk also involves running the cash register and attending to customers in the retail area and art gallery as needed. Regular housekeeping in the visitor center and parking lot.

  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Good Communication via speaking & written
  • Works efficiently with others on work projects or towards a common goal
  • The attitude and willingness to protect and improve our public lands and to educate and teach other co-workers and the public
  • Dependable & Strong work ethic
  • Adaptability & Flexibility as situations may happen
